Overview
Sundar Pichai called Spark "a personal AI agent that helps you navigate your digital life." It runs around the clock on Google Cloud VMs, so no device needs to stay on. Each user gets a dedicated Gmail address to send it tasks. It works natively with Gmail, Docs and Sheets, browses with Chrome, connects to other services over MCP, and asks before high-stakes actions.
It's built on Gemini 3.5 and Google's Antigravity agent harness. On Android 17, status updates are due to appear in "Halo", a notification layer.
Example jobs: finding new or hidden subscriptions in your card statements, pulling deadlines out of school emails, turning scattered meeting notes into a clean doc.
Availability
- Beta for US AI Ultra subscribers from late May 2026, since widening by region
- Bundled into AI Ultra, which Google cut from $250 to $100/month (with 20TB storage and YouTube Premium)
Why Interesting
It was the first big-lab product pitched explicitly against OpenClaw and Hermes. Its advantage is that it already lives where your email, calendar and documents are, so there's no setup.
